What is Croquet?

Croquet is a classic lawn game with roots that can be traced back to 14th century France. It blends strategy and skill, using equipment, including mallets, balls and wickets (hoops) to play games & matches in various formats on the green.

Whether you're a seasoned player or a newcomer, croquet offers a fun and accessible experience for everyone. The Pasadena Croquet Club embraces many forms of croquet—from backyard 9-wicket and Golf Croquet to the more formal Association Croquet Rules, 6-wicket croquet.

Founded in 2006, the Pasadena Croquet Club plays on the north green in Pasadena Central Park and shares the clubhouse facilities with the iconic Pasadena Lawn Bowling Club, established in 1921.

The club hosts various croquet events throughout the year, including tournaments, special demonstrations, and free public lessons. Whether you prefer friendly matches or serious competition, there’s a place for everyone!

Joining the club offers full access to our greens and clubhouse facilities, allowing you to play at your convenience, invite friends for a game, or even learn lawn bowling.

With reasonable membership fees and a welcoming community, the Pasadena Croquet Club is the ideal place to gather, enjoy the outdoors and to engage in a bit of friendly competition.
